Sacraments

Arrangements for First Holy Communion

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope this letter finds you and your families safe and well.

It has been some time since we met for our Holy Communion classes which is why I am writing to make arrangements.

I met with Father Philip today and we have agreed a date and time for the children to make their First Holy Communion.  We have planned for Saturday 29th August at 12pm.

In preparation for this, I will be sending out short tasks for your child to complete and return to me via the ‘Sacraments’ section of our school website (https://www.stjosephslancaster.co.uk/sacraments/)

I am also planning a socially distanced group meeting in the Key Stage 2 building on Wednesday 22nd July at 2pm to finalise arrangements and go through the requirements for the Mass.

I’m sure you understand that due to restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 virus, the socially distanced meeting will be for the children making their First Holy Communion only.  Adults are unfortunately not permitted to stay at the meeting due to the distancing precautions already in place.

If you have questions, then please feel free to contact me at

Yours truly,

Miss Rachael Griffiths
