Headteacher’s Welcome

Headteacher’s Welcome

Hello and welcome to the St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School website!

My name is Rachael Griffiths and I am privileged and honoured to be the headteacher of our amazing school.  My history with St. Joseph’s dates back to 1896 when my grandmother was one of the first children to attend!  Since then, my dad attended our school and so did I and my 4 siblings.  St. Joseph’s is definitely in my blood and I LOVE it.

Throughout my time here as a pupil, I was inspired to learn and succeed by some of the most devoted and caring people I have ever met.  I was taught to never give up and aim for the stars.  Without that level of love and encouragement, I don’t think I would be writing this welcome letter.

It is the same love and encouragement that I want to instil in all of the wonderful children who attend our school now.

The needs of the children are always paramount in the life and decision making within our school. I strongly believe in providing the children with exciting, creative and meaningful learning experiences, which build their enthusiasm for learning and help them to grow and develop positively in a variety of ways. I think it is crucial to involve the children and their families as partners in their education. I am also keen on building a whole school community which thrives on mutual respect and values positive relationships. I know how vital working in partnership with parents really is in order for children to find school a positive and rewarding experience. As key educators in your children’s lives, I feel that it is important that you have a voice and that as a school we are approachable and allocate time to listen to your concerns, worries or thoughts about the school.

You can be assured that as Headteacher, I will strive to create the best education for your child/children whilst they are members of our school family and with God as our guide, we can achieve greatness!

Thank you for your continued support.

Yours faithfully,

Miss Rachael Griffiths
